Can I file a comlpaint against my landlord for personal injury?

I was walking down the stairs leading to the laundry room and slipped on some water on the stairs. Fell and severely sprained my ankle and broke my foot. Can I file a complaint against my landlord for personal injury?

Yes. However, you need to prove that the hazard was there long enough for the landlord to discover and fix it, and you need to show that you weren't careless for not avoiding the hazard.
